About this Recipe
Fluffy, sweet, and packed with a sweet pumpkin spice flavor, these Spiced Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls are sure to become a breakfast your whole family will love.
INGREDIENTS:
ROLLS
- 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
- 2 Tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cloves
- 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
- 1/2 cup Warm Water
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- 2 large Eggs
- 4 1/2-5 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
MAPLE CREAM CHEESE ICING (Optional)
- 1 – 8oz. Cream Cheese, at room temperature
- 2/3 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 Tablespoon Whole Milk, plus additional as needed
- 2 Tablespoon Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- Dash of Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
Step 3
Add the yeast mixture, sugar, melted butter, and eggs to the pumpkin mixture. Stir until well combined.
Step 4
Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
Step 5
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Step 6
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 7
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle.
STEP 8
Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
STEP 9
Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 10-12 even pieces.
STEP 10
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for 20-30 minutes.
STEP 11
Preheat the oven to 350º (175º) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
STEP 12
Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
OPTIONAL:
Drizzle rolls with Maple Cream Cheese Icing or Cinnamon/Sugar Mixture.
