INGREDIENTS:
TART CAKE:
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, cold and cut into cubes
- 1 Large Egg Yolk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract
- 2-3 Tablespoons Ice Water
FILLING:
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate Chips (or chopped chocolate)
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 ripe Nectarines, sliced
WHIPPED CREAM:
- 1 cup Heavy Whipped Cream
- 2 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
PREPARING THE TART SHELL
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

Add the cold butter and rub it into the dry ingredients using your fingertips until the mixtures resembles coarse crumbs.

Stir in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, almond extract and gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture comes together into a dough.

Press the dough into a tart pan (about 9 inches) evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Prick the bottom wiht a fork to prevent bubbling. Chill the tart shell in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Remove the tart shell from the refrigerator and bake it for about 15 minutes, then let it cool completely.
