About this Recipe
Combining the warm, comforting flavors of a classic apple pie with the nutrition you need to power through your day.
Made with fresh apples, creamy yogurt, and protein powder, each sip is an energizing blend of sweetness and wholesome goodness.
Perfect for breakfast or a post-workout treat!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 medium Apple (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), cored and chopped
- 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)
- 1 Tablespoon Almond Butter or Peanut Butter
- 1/2 Banana
- 1 Tablespoon Rolled Oats
- Ice Cubes (optional, for a chilled smoothie)
- A drizzle of Honey or Maple Syrup
Step 1
Start by washing and coring the apple. Chop it into small pieces, leaving the skin on for added fiber. Peel the banana.
Step 2
In a high-speed blender, combine the chopped apple, almond milk, vanilla protein powder, ground cinnamon, nutmet (if using), almond butter, banana, and rolled oats. If you prefer a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes.
Step 3
Blend the mixture on high speed until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
Step 4
Give your smoothie a taste. If you like it sweeter, add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup and blend again.
Step 5
Pour the smoothie into a glass and sprinkle a dash of cinnamon on top for garnish.
NOTE
For added nutiriton, consider tossing in a handful of spinach or kale; you won’t taste it but will gain extra vitamins!
SUBSTITION OPTIONS
You can substitute the almond butter with any nut butter or omit it for a lower-calorie version.
