About this Recipe
Perfect for gatherings or simple weeknight dinners, these Tender BBQ Brisket Sandwiches are made with succulent, slow-cooked brisket slathered in a homemade tangy barbecue sauce, piled high on soft, toasted sesame buns and topped with crunchy coleslaw and/or pickles.
Each bite bursts with rich flavors and delightful textures, making these sandwiches a true comfort food classic.
INGREDIENTS:
- 3-4lbs. Beef Brisket
- 2 Tablespoons Paprika
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 cup Organic Beef Broth
- 2 cups Barbecue Sauce
- 6 Sesame Sandwich Buns
- 2 cups Coleslaw (optional for topping)
- Pickles (optional for topping)
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 300ºF (150ºC).
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to create a dry rub.
Step 3
Rub the olive oil all over the brisket, then generously apply the dry rub mixture, ensuring it covers all sides.
Step 4
Place the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan or Dutch oven. Pour the beef broth around the brisket (not directly on top to avoid washing off the rub). Cover tightly with foil or the lid, and place it in the preheated oven.
Step 5
Cook for about 4-5 hours, or until the brisket is tender.
Step 6
Remove the foil or lid, brush barbecue sauce over the brisket, and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
Step 7
Toast the buns and layer each with sliced brisket and top with a generous scoop of coleslaw and/or pickles, if desired. Serve immediately!
