About this Recipe
Indulge in the refreshing taste of this Chilled Watermelon Bliss Granita, a perfect summer treat that combines the natural sweetness of ripe watermelon with a hint of mint and lime.
This icy dessert is easy to make and will keep you cool on hot days. Serve it on its own or as a complement to summer barbecues and gatherings.
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups Fresh Seedless Watermelon, cubed
- 1/4 cup Fresh Lime Juice
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (adjust to taste)
- Pinch of Sea Salt
- Fresh Mint Leaves, chopped for garnish
Step 1
Cut the watermelon into cubes and place them in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine the watermelon puree with granulated sugar, fresh lime juice, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 3
Pour the watermelon mixture into a shallow dish (like a baking dish) and spread it out evenly. Place the dish in the freezer.
Step 4
After about 1-2 hours, use a fork to scrape the mixture gently, breaking up any ice crystals that may have formed. Return it to the freezer.
Step 5
Continue to scrape the granita every 30 minutes for about 3-4 hours, until the granita is fluffy and has a snow-like texture.
Step 6
Once the granita is ready, use a fork to fluff it up one last time. Spoon the granita into serving bowls or glasses. If desired, garnish with fresh mint leaves for a touch of color and flavor.
TIP:
For an extra twist, consider adding other fruits like lime or berries to the watermelon puree. Feel free to experiment with natural sweeteners or adjust the lime juice for different flavor profiles. Enjoy!
